MBUSI IN SWITZERLAND FOR DIPLOMA COACHING COURSE
MBABANE – Well-known cycling administrator Mbusi Motsa will soon boast the highest qualification in cycling coaching.
Motsa, who is also a CAS Board Member, left for Switzerland yesterday for an International Cycling Union-accredited Level III (Diploma) Coaching Course. This is the highest qualification offered and is aimed at experienced coaches, who will be working with the national team. He will be away for a month and the classes start tomorrow. Cycling Association of Swaziland President Mbusi Motsa confirmed the latest developments, saying costs of the course and travelling expenses were covered by the National Olympic Committee.
The international cycling body pays for meals and accommodation. According to information sourced from the event’s official website, the programme is designed to provide coaches with an opportunity to study and practice all aspects of coaching the cycling disciplines under the expert guidance of the World Cycling Centre (WCC) team. “The programme is designed to increase levels of knowledge and expertise in all areas of cycling coaching. Candidates will be exposed to more than one cycling discipline. “The exposure to athletes and the knowledge gained from both qualifications will allow each coach to develop in multiple roles - from working with talent identification, and developing young riders through to elite level cyclists looking to compete at a world level,” read the posted information in part. Motsa is also a seasoned national team coach. He led a three-member squad that represented the country in the Continental Road Championships in Kigali, Rwanda in February this year.
