HORTON, ‘NTOFO’ GET NOMINATED FOR PARLY
MANZINI – Can PLS Executive Committee member Steve Horton be the answer to Mzimnene community members and the country?
This is one of the questions which came to some people’s mind after Mzimnene Voters shouted ‘we are voting for change’ as they nominated the Premier League of Swaziland (PLS) executive committee member for the position of a Member of Parliament (MP) for Manzini North yesterday. The Premier League of Swaziland (PLS) executive committee member was first to be nominated for the MP category and soon after the required number of supporters who seconded the nomination of Horton, a number of people were seen leaving the venue. He will contest against Derek Ndwandwe and Sifiso Tsabedze in the Mzinene community.
If Horton make the cut he will contest against outgoing Manzini North MP Jan Sithole and Macford Sibandze to mention just a few in the secondary elections on September 21. As they left, they were heard saying they had accomplished their goal of voting for a person who would change the country. They even mocked the candidate by saying since he was a white man; they believe he would bring change as they also changed their criteria of voting for a black man. Meanwhile, Horton, who was busy registering with the elections officials, could not help but smile at what his supporters were saying about his nomination.
Others sport personalities who were nominated in their respective constituencies were Manzini Wanderers National supporter Committee secretary and former PRO Sandile ‘Ntofo’ Dlamini, elite referee Lucky ‘Makalakalane’ Ndlanamandla.Dlamini was nominated under Ludzeludze constituency while ‘Makalane’ will contest against Swaziland National Sports and Recreation Council(SNSRC) CEO Darius Dlomo and Mabhanisi Dlamini under Kwaluseni. Meanwhile in the Ngcoseni constituency, Women Football Association chairman, Sonnyboy Mabuza who was nominated under Ngcoseni constituency will contest against former Member of Parliament, Vusilendlela Msibi, Mdabula Dlamini and Mthandeni Dvuba in the Primary Elections on August 18.
