PATRICK KUNENE, PHUMUZA IN RACE TO JOIN MANZINI FA
MBABANE – Former Eswatini Football Association (EFA) President Patrick Kunene has been nominated to join the Manzini FA.
The Manzini Regional Football Association will go to the polls during an elective general assembly at Princess Pholile Hall in Malkerns next Sunday (August 12). Kunene has been nominated to be an executive committee member of the regional football body, while former Chairman Phumuza Ntshangase is also set to return. The latter is a vice chairman nominee.
The list of the nominees has already been submitted to the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) for screening.
The battle for the chairmanship is equally fierce, with the incumbent Samuel Shongwe nominated alongside his Secretary Njabulo Mabuza, Doctor Simelane, Alpheous Dlamini and Johannes Siboza. However, the latter recently told this publication that he would not stand.
Meanwhile, former FIFA assistant referee Bhekizizwe Mkhabela, who was recently nominated to join the race to Parliament, according to the nominees’ list, is a secretarial post hopeful.
Mabuza could only confirm that the list of the nominees was with EFA and would be released to the media upon being verified by the country’s mother body.
