CORRECTIONAL TO MEET GARRISON IN POOL LEAGUE
MBABANE – It’s a forces’ derby. Correctional are struggling in the ongoing Dixie’s Pool League under the guidance of the Manzini Regional Pool Association (MRPA) but have the potential to rise to the occasion with star player Flag Nxumalo in his best form these days.
They can stand their own against the star-studded army team, Garrison tomorrow when the two clash at Malkerns. They are second last on the league log standings with just three wins and 17 points. The league is only four games away from wrapping up and leaders Way Inn have 42 points to Garrison’s 41 on second.
A win is all that will matter for Garrison if they hope to reclaim the summit but only if Way Inn stumble against Figaredo who are fourth with 33 points and a game less than their top three rivals. On third there is Mankayane who have 34 points and will be away to basement side Figaredo Five.
Way Inn’s remaining fixtures are as follows; Figaredo, Correctional, Bhunya and Mankayane Eagles. For Garrison, teams left to play are Correctional, Mankayane, Nick’s and Figaredo Five.
“Only on fixture has been cancelled and that is Mankayane Eagles against Bhunya because the latter is bereaved,” said MRPA Secretary Mbongeni ‘Mdlikiza’ Gamedze.
He said Bhunya requested to have the match played on Sunday as the burial will take place tomorrow.
