KPMG DRESSES SPRINTER ANDILE

MBABANE – It’s all coming together for athlete Andile Lusenga. The 400m national record holder was yesterday presented with training gear by KPMG for his preparations for the All Africa, Games, World Championships and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics Games.

Lusenga is among the seniors athletes in the country, having just returned from the CAA Senior African Championships in Asaba, Nigeria where he reached the semi-finals.

The gear, that is branded with a KPMG logo, is worth about E7 000 and it includes track spikes, T-shirts, shorts, tights and a bag among others things. Presenting the sponsorship was KPMG’s Vusi Nkabindze and Rob Webb among the others staff while representing the Athletics Association of Swaziland (AAS) were President Gideon Mthembu and Secretary Thoba Mazibuko.

“After seeing the work the athletes is doing through the media,. we decided that maybe we can assist him to encourage him to continue with the good work. He is still young and the future is b right for him. We are confident that this contribution will go a long way in assisting him become one of the great athletes,” he said.

Nkabindze joked that Lusenga may challenge South Africa’s world record holder, Wayde van Niekerk.
He urged the Correctional Services athlete to always show discipline and good behaviour as a sportsperson.

KPMG is one of the companies that always contributes to sports. Nkabindze said they were involved in the Mbabane Parkrun, swimming, football and road races where they send their team and also contribute with water stations.

AAS President Gideon Mthembu thanked KPMG and said sports were now a career. He said he had lived his entire life through sports and it was encouraging to see companies like KPMG supporting athletes.
