MBABANE – Consistency was rewarded in yesterday’s Mbabane 5km Parkrun.

Chris Morgan, who registered under the 70 to 74 years age category, did his 50th run yesterday and was awarded a cake as a token of appreciation for his dedication to the weekly run. The 5km run/walk, which has seen families participate every Saturday at the Mbabane Club, promotes body fitness and wellness. Morgan received the cake before the run kicked off and all participants were offered a piece when they came in to scan their bar-codes. Morgan crossed the finish line in 31:53 minutes. He also thanked the Parkrun organisers for the honour.

Meanwhile, winning the 72nd edition of the timed run on the day was Senzo Khatsidze, who clocked in at 16:46 minutes, ahead of first timer Tiaan Rabie, who finished the run in 28:57 minutes, while Nicolas Marwa, a volunteer and participant, appealed to members of the public to assist them in the run as they had no permanent staff members. Over 80 people, including several first timers, attended the run.
