CHARITY CUP’S E11M INVESTMENT TO NATION
MBABANE – It is all in 15 years since the Eswatini Posts and Telecommunications (EPTC) sponsored Charity Cup started.
The tournament’s Trust Fund has distributed E11milion to various beneficiaries over the years since inception.
This is among other things set to be shared in today’s Charity Cup 2018 prize presentation at the company’s premises at 8:45am.
Eswatini Telecom will be awarding players, coaches and most importantly the media who played a major role in promoting the Charity Cup from June to August 2018. Amongst some of the awards will be the Best Player, Best Coach and top goal scorer.
“The Eswatini Telecom Charity Cup is an initiative by Eswatini Telecom that generates funds geared towards assisting those who are less privileged in all communities around the country. The Charity Cup Trust Fund has distributed over E11 000 000.00 since inception of this initiative, fifteen years ago”, read a statement by EPTC’s Corporate and Communications Manager, Nqobile Magagula.
The statement also explains that EPTC uses this national event in partnership with football to mitigate the effects of HIV/AIDS, job creation and entrepreneurship, education and personal development, Arts and Culture, Sports, Wellness and Crime Prevention. In so doing EPTC has a far reaching impact in partnering with the Eswatini government by actively achieving the goals of the Eswatini National Development Strategy and directly contributing to the alleviation of poverty in the kingdom of Eswatini.
She therefore invited teams, individuals and sports journalists from the media houses to the event billed for EPTC Boardroom.
