TAEKWONDO TEAM AIMS HIGH IN BOTSWANA
The team of 14, 11 athletes and three officials of which one was likely to compete in the heavyweight division, left the country yesterday morning by road and will be in competition this morning. They are expected back in the country tomorrow.
In separate interviews at the Swaziland Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (SOCGA) offices yesterday, they promised nothing but the best – they are quite a decorated team with experience and achievements internationally and these include National Awards Best Sports Junior Female Award last year, Carlota Munave.

However, she was not part of the athletes that were at SOCGA. Others in the squad comprising juniors and seniors are Nhlakanipho Gwebu, Sikhulile Mahlalela, Gcinangaye Dlamini, Momotho Shongwe, Mfanwekhaya Dube and Wandile Maziya among others.
The team’s senior coach, Mancoba Motsa, said that his players were well prepared for the championships and promised to hoist the country’s flag in Gaborone.
“We are well prepared and ready for the competition and we promise nothing but the best.
“We have selected our top junior athletes, comprising black and yellow belt holders, both girls and boys”, he said.
