MBABANE – Seemingly, Mbabane Swallows assistant coach, Musa Manyatsi, has received a warm welcome.

This, after the head coach, Thabo ‘Koki’ Vilakati, said he has high respect for the former Manzini Sundowns coach. Manyatsi, for the first time, was seen in Mbabane Swallows colours when they recorded a 3-0 win over Matsapha United at Somhlolo National Stadium this past Sunday.

Manyatsi even made comments during the post-match interview on behalf of Vilakati, who was not feeling well after the game. Vilakati has given the new coach props after his official match under the red, white and blue ensemble.

“Firstly, I would like to commend the management for hiring an assistant coach. I have high respect for Manyatsi because of his experience, both as goalkeeper and assistant coach. He has a wealth of experience that we believe will benefit the team,” Vilakati said.
He further said they were hoping to work well with the coach.

“An assistant coach should have an impact in the team; this is why I recommended him to be my assistant because I believe he is a well-established coach in the league. I believe it will be a plus because he also specialises as goalkeeper coach,” he said.

Manyatsi has been assistant coach for Manzini Sundowns for close to five years. In other instances when the head coach resigned, he would keep the fires burning until he parted ways with the Kappa Boys in March. He then joined Young Buffaloes before he was snatched by Swallows.

At Sundowns, he has worked with international coaches such as Christopher Tembo (Zambia), Godfrey Tamerepi(Zimbabwe) and local Mlamuli ‘Sputla’ Zwane to mention a few.
