MBABANE - The newly-introduced ticketing system will not only benefit PLE but teams are set to gain a lot. Premier League of Eswatini CEO Simanga Nhleko made this statement during a press briefing at the Nomanini Offices situated near La Casserole Restaurant yesterday.

The CEO, together with staff  members from Nominini Technologies, took the media through the newly introduced ticketing  system; how it operates and the new improved changes that the company had brought for the benefit of all the teams.

Just a few weeks ago, teams had registered their complaints with the new ticketing system, labelling it as unreliable. The PLE has engaged teams and the media in a bid to bring to speed its stakeholders on the new innovation. The CEO emphasised that the new system had more positives than negatives.

“We were aware that when the system was introduced, it would have challenges. We have been working hand in hand with our partner and we have fine-tuned the system to be efficient and beneficial to our main stakeholders - the teams. It has been a roller-coaster but we are glad to report today that we are seeing the benefits. Tomorrow (today) we will be presenting the overall gate takings since the start of the season. It will reflect how this system has benefitted teams,” Nhleko said.

The CEO pointed out that in the past, teams had challenges collecting their gate takings such that some of the monies would grow feet.
“All the monies collected will benefit teams, not individuals, as it was sometimes the case in the past.

We want to assure teams that we are doing everything to ensure that all the concern raised by teams will be addressed. In fact, we have worked on most of challenges. Tickets will be available anywhere and there is no way one can cheat this new system,” he added.

Challenges

Nhleko also highlighted that while they have addressed the issue of availing tickets in almost all stadiums, they still had challenges of point of sale at Mavuso Sports Centre and Mhlume Stadium.
“However, like I mentioned early, we are working on that. We will ensure that the system benefits mostly the teams and their supporters. We believe this new system will boost the teams’ coffers as the money is deposited directly to their bank accounts.
