MBABANE – Mbabane Highlanders’ import Mthobisi Mngomezulu is reportedly shunning the team’s activities due to frustration.

The South Africa-born striker was conspicuously missing during the side’s 1-0 win over Manzini Wanderers during an MTN Premier League clash played at Mavuso Sports Centre on Saturday. Impeccable sources told this publication that the player asked to be excused last Thursday, as there were issues he needed to sort out with management first. It is believed he is frustrated by lack of game-time under coach Saul Chaminuka, who also coached him while at the ‘old’ Matsapha United last season.

“It is unclear if he will remain on board, but his concerns are headlined by lack of game-time. He used to be a regular during ‘Professor’s tenure,” said an impeccable source. The player was benched of late and sometimes came on as a substitute. Highlanders PRO Paul ‘Magidz’ludzakeni’ Masilela said he heard unofficial reports about the player’s frustration, but said he could be in an informed position to shed light on the issue after a meeting that was scheduled for last night.
