MBABANE – Royal Eswatini Police’s dominance in shooting tournaments continues unabated.

After last Saturday’s National Commissioner of Police shooting tournament, the dominant REPS team made up of Nhlanhla Sithole, Phinda Mlambo, Muzi Ngwenya and Nhlanhla Thomo returned to shoot a combined  ‘golden’ score of 950 points. The tournament was staged at Mzimpofu Shooting Range outside Manzini. According to results copied to this publication, Apollo Ngwenya, Samanisi Ngwenya, Msesh Mkhwanazi and Mlondi Dlamini from Umbutfo Eswatini Defence Force shot 930 points to rank second.

In the non-state security category, Eugene Ngubeni, Happiness Matsebula, Simanga Methula and Douglas Mamba, who were representing Team Central Bank of Eswatini, were champions on 825 points. Meanwhile, it proved to be a fierce battle for a podium finish in the individual category. Thomo fired an impressive 239 out of 250 to be a cut above the rest. The list of podium finishers was completed by Mlambo and Sithole, who shot 238 points each. Sipho Mavimbela, on the other hand, was the winner in the category for individuals who are not from the security forces.  He shot 225 points. The winners got a share from a E20 000 purse. Acting CEO of Swaziland National Sport and Recreation Council (SNSRC) Nqobile Dlamini joined the shottists on the podium to present the prizes.
