MBABANE – Nigerian striker Ohakwe Ugochukwu’s signature cost his new employers Manzini Wanderers E30 000.

That is the signing-on fee paid in cash to the player. “Everything on this transfer was done professionally with Tambuti and Wanderers. There were no issues at all and we’re all happy with everything. It’s not for me to say figures but I can tell you that your sources must be close people to either the player or his new team,” former Mbabane Highlanders’ Cameroonian left back Jean Ngumbous confirmed.

Quit

Ngumbois has quit playing the game after a spell at Mbabane Citizens last season and now focused on being a complete players’ agent. He had also sounded surprised how the news leaked but confirmed that Oguchukwu and Wanderers were a done deal. “He’ll be registered in the January window to start playing but he’s already left Tambuti,” he said. Ngumbois further refused to discuss the player’s salary offer in his new home where he signed for two years. However, sources said it was a good salary offer which the player and his agent were all happy about.

Goals

Ohakwe joins the side with four MTN Premier League goals for Tambuti and is expected to link up with former Mbabane Highlanders’ Mfanufikile ‘Fash’ Ndzimandze as the league heads into the second round next year. No immediate comment could be obtained from Wanderers’ CEO Pat Mahlalela. Meanwhile, the player was already mingling with his new teammates on Sunday after their hard-earned 2-0 Ingwenyama Cup’s Last 32 win over City Warriors.
