MBABANE - Barely after a week after Thabo ‘Koki’ Vilakati was sacked as Mbabane Swallows coach, two coaches have been heavily linked with the coaching seat at the capital city giants.

According to reliable sources close to the club, Manzini Wanderers coach Nyanga ‘Crooks’ Hlophe and Vovovo’s Gcina ‘Magiyane’ Dlamini could join the ‘Birds’ in a matter of days.
The source asserted that the team’s management committee will meet this afternoon to discuss ‘Koki’ replacement, Ingwenyama Cup draw and Richard McCreesh’s suspension.
“The names of Nyanga ‘Crooks’ Hlophe and Gcina ‘Magiyane’ Dlamini have popped up during deliberations since ‘Koki’ left the ‘Birds. Both coaches do stand a chance of joining the ‘Birds’,” asserted the source.

The source further stated that ‘Magiyane’ was leading the race as the team was looking to bring someone to build a strong and a happy dressing room. “As you know, ‘Koki’ had lost the dressing room, the team wants someone who will build a good relationship with the players and at the same time instil discipline among the players. The team is looking for championship winning coach,” added the source.

The Times Sports Desk understands that the team is racing against time to replace ‘Koki’ as Manyatsi would be engaged in January as he is a teacher by profession. “Besides been engaged, Manyatsi is not capable of handling big games. He is good as an assistant coach. He is also a good trainer and a motivator but he cannot handle the team. It is too big for him,” alleged the source.

When reached for comment, Mbabane Swallows PRO Jackson Dlamini said he was not aware of those claims. “For now, Manyatsi is our coach and if if there are any changes, we will tell all our stakeholders. The focus is on Ingwenyama Cup draw and we haven’t started looking for ‘Koki’s replacement,” Dlamini said.
