FIGAREIDO SEPARATES WITH FIRST SA COACH
MBABANE – Eswatini export Justice ‘Figa’ Figareido has separated with his first coach in professional football.
The former Manzini Sundowns winger plays for South Africa’s premiership outfit Maritzburg, who have since parted ways with their coach Fadlu Davids. The latter has been forced out of the team following a poor run, which has seen the side relegated to the basement of the charts in the first half of the season.
Davids has been charge since the past season. He is the first coach to have coached the Eswatini international since the latter’s switch to the Kwazulu-Natal-based outfit at the beginning of the campaign.
Under Davids, ‘Figa’ had mixed fortunes, but he was getting a run of late.
Martizburg confirmed releasing Davids through a statement released on their official Twitter page.
Following the latest developments, it is back to square one for ‘Figa’ in his bid to win a regular place in the starting team. It is standard practice that a new coach will come with his preferred top 16, which may include and exclude the Sihlangu star.
Efforts to get comments from the player were fruitless, as he was yet to respond to messages sent to his phone at the time of compiling this report.
