MBABANE- Nothing beats determination and confidence. This was the impression given by Manzini Chess Open Tournament champion Mbongeni Mabuza ahead of the Lesotho Chess Open billed for this weekend.

Confident

Mabuza said he was highly confident and determined to make the nation proud in Lesotho.
“We are one of the leading teams with a podium finish and we have the best coach, Mr William Seima, who helped us prepare for the championships. I am looking forward to a great championship and to bring home nothing but the best results,” he said.

Seima, who also sounded adamant that they would represent the nation well, said participating in international competitions will give Eswatini players the necessary exposure so that they can acquire higher player skills for more qualified players.

Skills

“The exposure is essential for local players so that we copy and adopted higher playing skills. All we need is to collect the rating from higher rated players,” said the coach.
He further thanked the players for their dedication and also commended parents for the support that they offer, especially the junior players.
