3-YR CONTRACT FOR MEHLULI
MBABANE – Newly installed Manzini Wanderers’ director Mehluli Nhlengetfwa has been given a 3-year contract.
Nhlengetfwa took over the reins from Sandile ‘Chief’ Dlamini, Peter Mathaba and Percy Mngomezulu and the change in power was facilitated by a five-member Task Team led by former sole director Sikebhe Dlamini.
A number of changes have been made at the hub giants since Nhlengetfwa took over and these include the arrival of new players, the change of a coach, reorganization of the Management Committee (MC) and the disband of the National Supporters Committee (NSC) led by the vocal ‘Majay’vane Dlamini.
Sought for comment, the team’s Public Relations Officer (PRO) Sandile ‘Ntofo’ Dlamini did not deny the news but opted not to comment and rather refer questions to the legal team led by lawyer Bhanyaza Mdluli.
“I do not have a comment on the issue, it is an executive matter and until I am given permission to officially communicate it to the public, I have no comment,” said Dlamini.
inevitable
Wanderers is registered a company and the involvement of the former directors was inevitable in the power transition process. Also reached for comment, one of the former directors, Sandile, otherwise commonly known as ‘Chief’ did not want to say much but referred all queries to the team’s spokesperson.
The hub giants’ Marketing and Communications Manager Bhekithemba Zwane confirmed that indeed Nhlengetfwa has been given three years in contractual terms as director of the team.
permission
“Yes, after consulting with the team authorities I have been given permission to confirm that Mehluli Nhlengetfwa has been given a green light to hold the position of directorship for three years after contractual terms were agreed,” said Zwane.
However, the manager said due to the fact that the parties, the director and the team enjoyed the privilege of confidentiality, he could not divulge the contents of Nhlengetfwa’s contract. “Nonetheless, I will have to mention that all documents have been signed and he has been given the leeway to carry on,” Zwane said. He added that as the ‘Weslians’ family, they urged all people to give Nhlengetfwa the respect befitting to his position as a leader. “We appreciate his presence at the team and all he has done for us since his arrival. We wish he should not get exhausted in helping and striving to improve the team,” the manager said.
Zwane said the Wanderers family will support the director and it includes the MC, supporters and all structures in existence. He further pointed out that working together as a unit will yield good results for the team. Nhlengetfwa also confirmed he had finally signed the three-year contract. “Yes I have finally received and signed the documentation,” Nhlengetfwa told the Times Sports Desk this week.
