Y’ELLO ACTION GOES ON!
MBABANE – After the last two previous league matches for all the elite clubs, Royal Leopard are three points ahead while the team they dislodged last weekend, Green Mamba, is now second and both will be hoping for wins to stay in control.
Below them, third-placed Mbabane Swallows, Young Buffaloes and Mbabane Highlanders will be eyeing two things – that Leopard and Green Mamba falter today while they win to play catch-up or even better, especially for the former two who can go above Green Mamba to second. Below are this afternoon’s games previews;
Bogandaganda seek revenge!
MBABANE – BoGandaganda are itching for this one – why?
On November 4 last year, the two clubs met in the first round and Highlanders hosted Matsapha United, who trade as BoGandaganda, in their own backyarda, the very side that the former are visitors to in this afternoon. Before that game started, marshals from either party clashed over entry points but both escaped charges. When the game started, Matsapha were pound for pound and sometimes even better, but a 57th minute penalty scored by Sabelo ‘Sawa’ Gamedze broke their hearts.
It was 1-0 after full-time and three points gone. Matsapha are also fighting relegation and doing well after having been the basement team the entire first round, only turning things around in January and are now third from bottom.
lost
They have narrowly lost to Highlanders in the Ingwenyama Cup Last 16, same scoreline as in the league fixture so it is currently the star-studded Mbabane giants on top. Highlanders also need this one badly if their title aspirations are anyathing to go by or a loss could prove the killer blow. They are already trailing leaders, Royal Leopard by six points but Matsapha will be all out to give the home crowd the best in the end and that is three points. A thriller in the making!a
