WRITE US OFF AT OWN PERIL – CHAMINUKA
MBABANE – Capital city giants coach Saul Chaminuka has insisted that they are still in the title race.
Chaminuka made these comments during a pre-match interview which was held at Sigwaca House yesterday. The ‘Bull’ will cross swords with resurgent Matsapha United this afternoon at Mhlume Stadium. Kick-off time is 3:30pm.
“People are writing us off from the title race. They should do that at their own peril. We believe we can still win the league. In fact, the title race is wide open. Any team can win it. Our main priority is the league, so we are hard at training preparing for tomorrow’s game,” the Zimbabwean mentor said. The team captain, Xolani ‘Chocco’ Sibandze explained the inconsistence was due to that they underestimated the so called small ‘teams’. “We have woken up from our slumber now. We will not take other teams for granted. We invite our fans to come in their numbers at Mhlume Stadium,” the long serving captain said.
Meanwhile, Matsapha United goalkeeper trainer, Bright Nxumalo said they respect Highlanders. “We will use our own home ground advantage and we are hoping for positive results. Despite that they have a huge following countrywide, we will try to do our best to annex the maximum points,” Nxumalo said.
The captain Phinda Ginindza said they were ready for Highlanders and were looking forward to the game.
