NHLANGANO – Mbabane Swallows striker Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa was among the scorers in the 3-0 rout of Tambuti in the EswatiniBank Cup Last 16 games yesterday.

This was Ndzinisa’s first goal since his return to football after a head injury that kept him out of action for one-and-a-half seasons. His dream goal came in the 20th minutes when he looped the ball over challenging Tambuti goalkeeper Mlamuli Makhanya just outside the box.

Swallows finally soared into the quarter-finals of the lucrative tournament after fruitless attempts in the last two editions. They had it easy against Tambuti who failed to beat the ‘Birds’ at their ‘happy hunting ground.’ Swallow’s other goals were scored by the duo of Tony ‘TT’ Tsabedze and Wonder ‘Samba Jive’ Nhleko.
The game started with Swallows having an upper hand and in full control of the game.

chance

It was chance after chance for Swallows only for the trio of Richard McCreesh, Samba Jive and Sikhali to miss in front of goal.
It was ‘Sikhali’ who took full responsibility when he received the ball 12 yards out and he scooped it over the advancing goalkeeper to give the ‘Birds’ the much needed lead.

A minute before the break it could have been 1-all but a back pass from Siboniso Ndaba saw Swallows escaping after a brilliant save by Sandanezwe  Mathabela and that never went down well with Tambuti technical bench, players and fans as they all protested that the ball went over the line.

The game went for the breather with Swallows enjoying the 1-0 lead. Swallows continued to pile pressure over Tambuti and it came as no surprise when Tony ‘TT’ Tsabedze scored with a hard taken shot after dribbling his way inside the box. Swallows then watched in disbelief when ‘Sikhali’ was withdrawn from the game due to an injury and replaced by fast running striker Sandile Hlatshwako who brought life to the game.

stretchered

Five minutes later Njabulo ‘D4D’ Ndlovu joined him as he was stretchered off the field and replaced by Xolani ‘Papi’ Sikhondze.
‘Samba Jive’ Nhleko could not miss a glorious chance after he came face to face with the goalkeeper Mlamuli after a well taken pass by Sandile and he made it 3-0. There was little Tambuti could do as the game went for full-time with the ‘Birds’ flying high.
