TEAM WITH COMPELLING STRATEGY TO WIN - PM
MBABANE – “Champions of the Ingwenyama Cup will be the team which is better prepared and has put together a compelling winning strategy combined with dedication and hunger.”
This is the observation of the Prime Minister (PM), Ambrose Mandvulo Dlamini. He said a team with these qualities would emerge as victors on the day. This was after the premier had been asked to predict the champions of the Ingwenyama Cup as the final pitting Mbabane Highlanders and Young Buffaloes ebbs closer. The match will be played on Sunday at Somhlolo National Stadium.
The Sincephetelo Motor Vehicle Accident Fund (SMVAF)-sponsored tournament will see the champions walk away with a staggering E1.3 million first prize. The premier did not really want to commit himself on which team he thought would possibly win the tournament but added that at the end of the day football would be the winner.
“I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate both Mbabane Highlanders and Young Buffaloes for reaching this far in the tournament. We are looking forward to an enthralling final befitting the status of this tournament,” said Dlamini. The premier highlighted that the excitement of football was derived from its unpredictability. “The best will prevail on the day,” he said.
Sharing his advice to emaSwati on how to conduct themselves before Their Majesties on Sunday during the Ingwenyama Cup final, the head of government pointed out that the Ingwenyama Cup was a celebration of football and culture and testimony to His Majesty’s relentless efforts to preserve and promote Eswatini culture while inspiring young people to live an active and healthy life through sports, and in this instance being football. “As His Majesty’s Government we appeal to the nation to converge on Somhlolo National Stadium to support our football and culture and to accept the results of the day. EmaSwati are not known for violence,” he said.
The PM is expected to be present, among other government officials, during the finals of the fourth edition in support of Their Majesties.
