MBABANE – Is ‘Umsholozi’ here for the Ingwenyama Cup final? Former South Africa President Jacob Zuma is reportedly in the country ahead of this afternoon’s blockbuster between Mbabane Highlanders and Young Buffaloes.

According to impeccable sources, Zuma arrived yesterday afternoon.
The source further asserted that the former South Africa president had to meet a delegation at Royal Villas in Ezulwini ahead of the richly-sponsored Sincephetelo Motor Vehicle Accident Fund tournament. The final of Ingwenyama Cup will see Mbabane Highlanders clash horns with Young Buffaloes at Somhlolo National Stadium. Kick-off time is 3:30pm.

Government Assistant Press Secretary Sabelo Dlamini said he was not aware of the latest development and asked the Sports Desk to contact the Foreign Affairs minister.

When reached for comment, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Thuli Dladla confirmed that she was aware that the former South African president was in the country.

“I just received these news now that Jacob Zuma is in the country. However, I am not aware of the intention of the visit in the country. I will have to consult with the relevant stakeholders on the nature of his visit,” Dladla said.

Meanwhile, Dladla disclosed that Filipe Nyusi would not watch the Ingwenyama Cup final as reported in one of the local publications yesterday.
“The Mozambique president will leave tomorrow morning (today) for his home country. He had to rush back home because there is currently a cyclone, so he wants to see the damage that might have been caused by the storm,” she said.
