ZWELI SHINES IN 99TH PARKRUN
MBABANE – After 29 runs in the Mbabane Parkrun, Zweli Ncongwane won his second race yesterday.
He was the eventual winner of the 99th edition of the 5km weekly timed run/walk which starts and finishes at Mbabane Club. Despite winning the race, he could not manage to beat his personal best time of 17:39 minutes he set in January 27 last year where he came position nine.
Ncongwane clocked at the finish line at 18:40 minutes to beat the 74 runners who participated in the race. The last time he won the race was in August 11 last year where he clocked 18:43 minutes.
Coming second was Wandile Dludlu, who finished the race in 18:46 minutes while Bhekithemba Kunene came third on 20:37 minutes.
In the ladies category, Caroline Booth outshone her competitors, finishing ahead of Mahlet Tamene.They finished the race in 32:14 and 32:54 minutes, respectively. On third was Thandiwe Dlamini with a time of 33:26 minutes.
