‘BARRY-FUL’ GOAL!
MBABANE – Violence in football is costly – so let there be none in today’s big derby between traditional rivals Mbabane Highlanders and Mbabane Swallows.
On top of the obvious fact that either of the two clubs’ supporters would expect their team to win, they also want everyone at to be at the stadium to behave in an acceptable manner. Two renowned supporters, Mpapane Ndlovu and Langa Magagula, have appealed for peace and fun. Ndlovu is a staunch Highlanders while Magagula is a ‘Bird’.
“I see us winning it this time around. It’s been a long time since we last won but we’ve come close in some occasions. We’ll win 1-0. All I can ask for is that we all pack the stadium to cheer our teams without any unacceptable behaviour from to start to finish,” he said.
He said it was important that fans gave the derby the deserved respect as it was the mainstay of local football.
“Let’s let it be super Sunday without violence but football entertainment,” he appealed.
Ndlovu also said so long as his club stay strong in defence and further limit supply from Tony Tsabedze and Wonder ‘Samba Jive’ Nhleko, a good result was possible. His rival, Magagula, predicted a 2-0 win for his team.

“We are in competition for the title and we want to win it so it starts with beating Highlanders. We have played two helpful international friendlies during the break so we’re in good shape. Samba Jive and Sandile Hlatshwako are there to win this one for Swallows,” he said.
He further said their players need to be wary of midfielders Vusumuzi Zungu and Mlamuli ‘Mlaba’ Nkambule, otherwise he expects a win.
