MATSAPHA – Tennis junior players are doing battle on the courts with seven players from Mozambique in the Swaziland Building Society (SBS) Juniors Invitational tournament.

The tournament that started yesterday will continue even today with the semi-finals and finals. Mozambique brought seven players including girls and boys and they are accompanied by Mozambique Tennis Vice-President Jonas Alberto Juwior.

The tournament between the two countries comes after a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that was signed three weeks ago in Mozambique. Also present during the tournament was the Eswatini National Tennis Association (ENTA) President Maxwell Jele.

ENTA Secretary Nqaba Mkhaliphi said this was a good start between the two countries and more tournaments must be expected.
“We are happy with the numbers that attended as we registered 58 players including those from Mozambique. This is our last tournament for the season and we are happy that we ended the year on a high note,” he said. Mkhaliphi added that the day would be spiced up by SBS, which is going to dress all the players and the courts will be painted red. He said also expected to be part of the festivities is the SBS Managing Director Tim Nhleko who is going to award the winners.
