KHATSIDZE WINS 106TH PARK RUN
MBABANE – Senzo Khatsidze was the fastest in the Mbabane Club park run on Saturday.
He has by far been crowned park run champion twice. He first won in September last year and then in the past weekend. His personal best is 16:46 minutes and records have revealed that he has attended the weekly event 10 times. Two days ago, he outfoxed 78 other runners to claim the championship title, clocking 17:40 minutes. Ndumiso Ndeve, Nkosinathi Nkambule and Jabulani Mamba all completed the race within 20 minutes, while regular parkrunner, Yuta Kobayashi was position five after reaching the winning point after 20:29 minutes.
The first lady to cross the finish line was Delisile Ngubane, who returned after 27:58 minutes. Tumi Makokotlela was back after 28:49 minutes. Nicola Faulkner, on the other hand, finished the 5km race in 30:32 minutes. Meanwhile, Mbabane park run is a weekly event which starts at 7:45am every Saturday and is open to runners of all ages. Participation is free of charge. Volunteers play a major role in organising and assisting runners during the course of the race. This week’s volunteers, who contributed to park run’s success, were Samuel Atemba, Petros Nkomo, Gohe Gebremariah, Rhona Healy, Nonhlanhla Makhanya, Bongi Maziya, Chris Morgan, Neil Robinson, Frankie William and Sebenzile Zwane.
