MATSAPHA – Up the Bucs! Elite side Moneni Pirates mean business ahead of the new season as they have unveiled a seemingly vibrant and positive Marketing Committee that knows what it is about. After hosting a well organised and successful dinner at Esibayeni Lodge on Friday night, they spiced it all up with the launch of their new kit for next season.

They launched their home, away and alternative kit, which was admired by every fan who had come to the event.
“We’re sticking to Umbro as our sponsors for the past few years. The deal here is we sell replicas and other merchandise from Umbro to keep the sponsor going. This is our new kit for next season and very soon we will make it available to our supporters,” said the club’s Manager, Mlungisi Simelane.

The kit’s worth could not be established though at the time of going to print but Pirates have worn Umbro at least in the last two seasons. “We have black as our home kit, white as the away kit while the maroon is our alternative kit,” he explained.

The team’s General Manager, Brian Magagula, also encouraged their supporters to buy the merchandise as it will be on sale soon. He said the more the supporters buy, the more the club will have sustainability as the aim was that it becomes self-sustainable.

PLE Chairman Peter ‘Touch’ Magagula praised the club for this initiative and said they could not have started at a better time than now as running football, especially in Eswatini was very tough.

“It’s no child’s play. Football is expensive and needs money for a club to thrive. This idea is a good one because if it passes, Pirates will be running itself. It is also important that club’s former players also return in numbers to contribute something and keep the fires burning,” he said.
He also congratulated them on their 52nd anniversary, which was also celebrated during the fund-raising dinner.
