MBABANE – Sibusiso Shabangu was the fastest in the Mbabane Club parkrun yesterday.

The Swazi Slojos athlete is a four-time parkrun champion, with a record of 16:52 minutes and 15 total parkruns. Last week he came second, clocking 17:02 minutes after Mduduzi Dlamini who came on top in 16:51 minutes. There were 72 parkrunners who braved the cold weather to join the 5km weekly timed run and walk.

Mduduzi Dlamini, Wandile Mdluli, Ndumiso Ndeve and Nkosikhona Nxumalo all completed the run within 20 minutes.  Zethu Bhembe was the first lady to cross the finish line in position 26. She clocked 30:32 minutes. Kirsten Van Rensburg returned after 33:23 minutes.  Jasmine Dlamini and Charlene Sserumaga outpaced each other through the golf course back to the finish line. They arrived 19 seconds apart, with Dlamini recording 35:16 minutes and Sserumaga 35:35.
