MBABANE – Mbabane Swallows are one big happy family. This is what the team’s Director Princess Lungile has come out to say amidst reports of instability in the red and white outfit’s camp.

The alleged instability is over transfer fees of some of the players that the team sold or loaned out last season.
“Everything is normal at Mbabane Swallows. I am still the director and our focus is on preparing for the upcoming season,” she said.

The director, who is wife to late Swallows boss Victor ‘Maradona’ Gamedze, added that they planned on adding one or two strikers to strengthen their striking force for the 2019/202 season. “All is in order and we are one big happy family,” she said.

Meanwhile, the red and white glamour side has come out to strongly to dispute allegations of a coup to oust the team director.
This follows reports that some of the team’s officials were working on a coup to oust the club’s director.
It was alleged that a meeting was to be held where the team’s National Supporters Committee and Elders were invited but did not honour the invitation as they did not want to be part of the conspiracy.

The reports suggested that the said officials were wanted to overthrow the director to make way for a South African businessman they preferred led the team.
Princess Lungile took over as the ‘Beautiful Birds’ director after the demise of her husband.
In a statement issued by the team through its Public Relations Officer (PRO) Jackson Dlamini assured their supporters and stakeholders that the late Gamadze’s wife was still the boss.

“Due to recent false rumors purporting infighting and takeovers within the team’s governance structures, Mbabane Swallows FC wishes to assure all supporters, stakeholders and concerned parties that Princess Lungile (Make Gamedze) is Director of the club and is still very much committed towards the running of the team and ensuring that it returns to the top of local football, where it belongs,” reads the statement in part.

The PRO also highlighted, through the correspondence, that as in past seasons, the team would start preseason training for the 2019/20 season on July 1, 2019.
“Recruitment trials will be announced through the media and the team’s official social-media pages in due course,” he said.
Dlamini added that Swallows assured all their supporters and stakeholders that the team and its structures were functioning normally and that the team was focused and preparing for the start of the new season.

Meanwhile, the team’s elders’ representative, Enoch Nkosi, could not be drawn for immediate comment as his mobile phone rang unanswered when called several times yesterday.
On another note, on behalf of the hub giants, the spokesperson expressed much appreciation to the Fair Play Award which goes with an E7 500 incentive that the team was awarded during the 2018/19 elite league presentation.
