HIGHLANDERS’ E30 000 LEON MANYISA OFFER
MBABANE – The Vovovo young midfielder is currently hot property among the country’s top sides.
He has already been linked with Manzini Wanderers and Mbabane Swallows – and has been called up to the senior national football team Sihlangu once this year by new coach Kosta Papic. Now its Mbabane Highlanders vying for his signature. The latter are said to have already approached the player and made an offer.
This is despite his club reportedly putting a E150 000 price tag over his head. Vovovo are set to go down to First Division next season, which encourages the big shots to go for his signature. Meanwhile, Highlanders have reportedly tabled a E30 000 signing-on fee for the gifted, steady but sure midfielder.
Impeccable sources within the club said a patron and some members of management were handling the matter. Upon reaching the patron, he confirmed their interest and did not deny the figures but expressed surprise the news had leaked.
excited
“He’s hot property, young and wanted by everyone. As Highlanders, we would also be excited to have him in our team. We are waiting to see how his Malaysia move goes as that’s what he told us of. If it doesn’t materialise, then we’ll see,” said Benson Dlamini, who is in the patrons’ structure, upon realising the author had done his homework.
Questioned about the E150 000 price tag, he said transfers would always involve negotiations between the parties involved, and he was adamant Manyisa would be a valuable player if they managed to sign him.
The club’s Head of Communications and Secretariat Gcina Dlamini asked not to be involved in the matter at this stage. Meanwhile, the player also confirmed Highlanders’ advances, saying they ‘came with a E30 000 signing-on’.
Highlanders have stiff competition for the player and it remains to be seen if they can win him. Meanwhile, Vovovo Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Stan Dlamini said there were many offers coming in for the player but for now, the priority was to see if his overseas move succeeds as it involves his parents as well.
