MALKERNS – Way Inn crushed then leaders Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) Pool Club to find their way to the summit of the Dixie’s International Pool league.

The defending champions proved too good and ready for the Dixie’s International Pool League top-of-the-table clash played at Malkerns Game Room last Sunday afternoon before a reasonable crowd.

It was a grudge match as Way Inn had beaten REPS two years ago in their own-sponsored tournament final while the later beat their strong rivals 13-9 in the Dixie’s International Pool Knockout final a fortnight ago.

Way Inn had won the league first round clash 13-6.
The second round tie came with REPS on top while Way Inn were on second but separated by two points.

star-studded

All Way Inn needed was a win and that is exactly what they got against the star-studded REPS side. The final score was 13-6, same as the first round.
The result dislodged REPS from the top and down to third as army side Garrison had also won their match against Figaredo to move to second.
Way Inn now have 38 points to 37 for Garrison while REPS have 36.

edged

On fourth is Manzini Pool Club (MPC), who edged Bhunya 13-12 while Correctional Services, who are also in the title chase, also won 13-11 against Mankayane and are position five on 35 points like MPC.

REPS’ star player Sibusiso Nhlabatsi admitted defeat while also decrying the small venue and the use of one table as it meant they had to wait longer before getting into action yet they were used to playing simultaneously on various tables.
