LOBAMBA – TZD Athletics Club long-distance runner Sithembile Nzalo continues to shine in half marathons.

She defended her title in the 21.1km on Saturday during the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) Marathon at Lobamba where she finished first on 1:28:19 hours.

Nzalo won the half marathon last year when she made her debut and she defended it on Saturday with ease, much to the excitement of teammates, who lifted her up in celebration.

Nzalo is now the top lady athlete in the country ahead of Royal Eswatini Police Services (REPS) runner Winile Mnisi
Nzalo said she had been all along training hard in preparation for the race and she wanted to win it at all costs. “It is never easy but it is through hard work. I will continue to work hard as I’m looking forward to the Imbube Marathon,” she said.

A majority of athletes said they were using the FSRA Marathon as preparations of the Imbube Marathon billed for October 6 at Somhlolo National Stadium.
