MBABANE – The national team, Sihlangu has a mountain to climb in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers match against Djibouti without Captain Felix Badenhorst.

The Mbombela United attacking midfielder was injured during the first leg of the qualifiers against Djibouti on Wednesday away. He was part of the team that trained yesterday afternoon at Somhlolo National Stadium but he was limping.

Sihlangu has a task of reversing the 1-2 loss by the lowly ranked Djibouti when the two sides clash tomorrow at Mavuso Sports Centre, kick-off 3pm. Djibouti is already in the country, having arrived on Saturday.

Badenhorst was stretchered out of the field in the second half of the first leg match, replaced by Menzi Sithole.
Sihlangu coach Kostadin Papic conceded that the player was not fully ready to play the match but they were yet to determine the seriousness of the injury in yesterday afternoon training session. Sihlangu is likely to welcome back Justice Figuareido who missed did not travel to the first leg match due to an injury.

“I doubt he will play on Tuesday due to the injury he sustained in the first leg and Figuareido may be ready to play even though he is still under scrutiny,” he said.

Papic added six players to his squad including Manzini Wanderers Leon Manyisa, Mbabane Highlanders Sabelo ‘Sawa’ Gamedze, Peter Dlamini, Green Mamba Phinda ‘Phindrix’ Dlamini and Royal Leopard Mlamuli Msibi and Sibonginkhosi Dlamini.
