E20 000 KFC BITE FOR CRICKET TOURNEY

MANZINI – It’s a spicy affair.

Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) has joined hands with Jabez School of Excellence by sponsoring them with E20 000 towards a Cricket Tournament billed for Saturday. On top of that, the company pledged to supply all participants with KFC Street-Wise Two to the tune of E3 000. The tournament will be held at Malkerns Country Club, starting at 9am. This emanated during the tournament launch that was held at the school yesterday. Jabez School of Excellence is a private institution located at Nhlambeni in the Manzini region and is renowned for exceptional results, both in academics and sports. The school has also produced champions in swimming and karate competitions, boasting junior sportsmen in Damien de Sousa and Cameron Jele, as well as 2016 and 2017 Miss Teen Eswatini Temandlondlo Msibi.

The school’s Deputy Head teacher, who is also the tournament’s Director, Mica Singano, cited cricket as an excellent sport for children as it motivated focus, both in academics and in life, holistically. Singano expressed his appreciation to all their partners who joined them in pursuing their aspirations of promoting the sport in the country. He further acknowledged their new partner, KFC, who is the tournament’s main sponsor, for coming on board and presenting the students with an opportunity to explore their talents and skills.

Programmes

“Jabez School of Excellence, in collaboration with our partners; KFC, Parmalat, Clover and Just Print branding company, will host a cricket tournament on Saturday. Participating schools include Enjabulweni, U-tech, Sisekelo and Jabez. We are humbly honoured for this kind gesture. Our school is dedicated to developing learners beyond the classroom and in embracing their skills and passion. We are looking forward to a fruitful partnership as we also plan to host more cricket promotional programmes next year, including cricket camps,” said Singano.
On behalf of the sponsor, KFC’s Finance Officer Wandile Ncwane, in the company of Accounts Officer Nonhlanhla Mathonsi, emphasised on the importance of team work, which is applicable both in sports, at home and in the workplace. He said their involvement in the uplift of Eswatini youth was of enormous essence to their company and hoped that the business community would respond significantly in the promotion of sports in the country.
