EZULWINI – Only four games into the MTN Premier League season, Mbabane Highlanders has already made sweeping changes in their Management Committee (MC).

They have parted ways with their renowned Secretary, Gcina Dlamini and Manager Makhosonkhe Gama. This was announced by the club’s Patron Benson Dlamini yesterday at Royal Swazi Sun Hotel and Convention Centre during their players’ unveiling ceremony. “Because hews has been circulating now and some of you even called me this morning to ask about it. It is best we lay out the facts. The club, after making some considerations, has excused two officials; the Secretary Gcina Dlamini and Team Manager Makhosonkhe Gama.We have not replaced them but we appointed acting people within the MC.

Gcina’s position has Simiso Jele acting while the club’s assistant General Manager Clement Dlamini will be acting manager,” he explained. He said once they make new appointments, they would again call the media to inform the public and their supporters. Dlamini would not get into details of what caused the changes. He said apart from these changes; there was no other position that was affected as all other officials are still in their positions.

Regret

Meanwhile, the former General Secretary and Manager both posted their comments on Facebook about the latest. “I regret to inform you that I am no longer a General Secretary for Mbabane Highlanders FC. The painful decision was reached for the betterment of the Club. I will not get into details or assumptions. It may have been a short journey for me this time around but I equally believe the club should come first before any individuals’ desires or plans,” he partly wrote.

He also declared he would always be a Highlanders supporter at heart while in business he would still work with other clubs which he did not want to be misconstrued as he was in that business for a living. Gama also declared his undying love despite all this. “It’s with great sadness to announce my departure as Highlanders team Manager. Due to some challenges and work commitment after my promotion, I have seen it fit to take a back seat for a while in my duty as team manager,” he wrote on Facebook.
