IT WAS A CORPORATE AFFAIR
LOBAMBA – The Imbube Marathon has turned out to attract an increased number of companies and business entities.
This year’s edition saw businesses and corporate companies register a massive number of their employees, who pushed their limits.
Business entities with participating employees included the EswatiniBank, Times of Eswatini, RSSC, FNB, Standard Bank, ERA, Matsapha Town Council, Eswatini Mobile, SNBH, SEPARC, SMVAF, Inyatsi, Liberty Life, SNPF, and the African Alliance among others.
One of the corporate entities, EswatiniBank had participants who took part in the 21.1km, 10km and 3.3km categories of the Imbube Marathon.
According to Public Relations Officer (PRO) PhesheyaVilakati the bank also sponsored a Water Point at the Gables Shopping Complex, Ezulwini.
“The number of staff members who participate in the marathon has increased steadily over the past few years and has become a popular event among staff. It has become an annual event for exercise and team building.
“The bank, as a socially responsible corporate entity, always strives to have healthy workers. Staff is always encouraged to live a healthy lifestyle and exercise regularly,” he said.
Vilakati said the bank had an internal Wellness Unit which manages staff wellness issues to ensure a healthy and productive staff compliment. He said the bank also participated in other national events that seek to promote fitness, team building and brand awareness.
