‘BIRDS’ ‘GUDAS’ SUSPENDED
MBABANE – Mbabane Swallows head coach Honour Janza is reportedly cracking the whip at the capital city giants.
Impressive recruit and former Sihlangu midfielder Sibonginkhosi ‘Gudas’ Dlamini has reportedly been sidelined for a week for alleged misconduct. Classified information leaked to this publication by impeccable sources suggested the player allegedly made utterances which irked the coach. The latter allegedly reacted by sidelining the former Manzini Sundowns player for at least a week with effect from the past Wednesday.
“He made comments that displeased the coach and got suspended for a week as result,” alleged an impeccable source. ‘Gudas’, who made his Swallows debut in the 0-1 loss to Manzini Wanderers in the EswatiniTelecom Charity Cup semi-finals in August, watched from the stands as his team was held to goalless draw by strugglers Milling Hot Spurs at Mavuso Sports Centre on Friday night. Coach Janza politely referred comments to the team’s communications office when sought for comment. “It is more administration than technical; refer to PR,” he said briefly.
Swallows Communications and Marketing Manager Mancoba Mabuza invoked the confidentiality clause when sought for comment. “I’m yet to see an institution, not least a professional one that publicises its internal disciplinary process - that would be unethical, unprofessional, irresponsible and backward. “Mbabane Swallows FC has a code of conduct and all of us, including management, technical and playing staff are guided by such and in our line of duty we, from time to time, get a call for adherence to this code without making it public because we understand that it would be irresponsible to do so as professionals,” said Mabuza.
Mabuza said the club was very happy with the overwhelmingly impressive progress in their technical department which is headed by Janza, whom he dubbed a technician par excellence who is continuously affirming the confidence they have in him in so far as professionalism is concerned. “Mr Janza has our full support as management as well as entire stakeholders of the club. As you would know the Swallows culture; we always endeavour to support the coach and technical bench without interference to ensure professional autonomy,” he said.
