CORRECTIONAL CHAMPS AGAIN
MBABANE – It’s now a done deal for the male Correctional Services Volleyball Club in the elite Nedbank Volleyball League.
With a game to spare, the male side has defended its title without a single defeat in 13 games.
This makes the last match for them, against their number two last season and, currently third, Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) just one for pride.
This will be a grand closing match.
Correctional sealed their phenomenal performance last Saturday in Matsapha Correctional Services Gymnasium courts when they outfoxed RSSC and Mahlanya 3-0 apiece.
Second-placed Bob Cats also won 3-0 against Ludzeludze and 3-1 against REPS but are seven points behind and despite having a game in hand, they can only finish with 38 points even if they win all remaining two games and Correctional lose to REPS.
However, Bob Cats will be hoping for a Correctional win against REPS as they are separated by four points and both have two games to play, which is six points as they now have their own race for the second spot.
ladies
In the ladies section, Correctional Ladies are just one match away from their second title in two years and are also yet to taste defeat, which seems unlikely though.
Their current number two, REPS, are six points behind but have two games left while they have one.
For REPS to snatch the title, they must win their next match against RSSC this Saturday as games hit the University of Eswatini (UNESWA) Kwaluseni Campus’ Multipurpose Hall and Sports Emporium and then go on to win against Correctional.
Eswatini National Volleyball Association (ENVA) Management Committee (MC) Chairman Eric Zwane confirmed the games were going to UNESWA this Saturday with Mahlanya Volleyball Team the hosts.
He also confirmed last week’s results and the latest log standings.
