THRILLS AT BREAST CANCER AEROBATHON
MBABANE – The scorching temperatures did not deter fitness enthusiasts from enduring the pink-themed fifth edition of the Fitness Gladiators Aerobathon.
Close to 100 people joined yesterday’s edition and in accordance with the Breast Cancer awareness campaign, participants adhered to the theme and painted Solani’s Shisanyama in Mbabane pink. Fitness Gladiators is quickly gaining momentum and the attendance increases with every edition. The workout exercises choreographed by the trainers cater for people of different fitness levels.
Participants were treated to different workouts, thanks to a vibrant line-up of instructors who took turns in taking the participants through their paces.
First to take the stage was fitness trainer Sifiso Dlamini who led the Hi Lo, followed by the Shabangu siblings, Eugene and Ayanda, doing the Box workout. They gave way to Studio-Z coach Aaron Dlamini, who led the body conditioning session.
A step bench competition was next in line as coaches, Mandla Mngadi, the Shabangu brothers and Sifiso Dlamini each got 20 minutes leading the crowd in different step bench styles. This was the survival of the fittest test for participants and despite the heat, the attendants persevered until the end. A body combat session marked the end of the event and participants pushed their limits in what was an intense combination of martial arts and aerobics workout.
