PARKRUNNERS CLOCK OVER 56 000KM

MBABANE – Since the Mbabane parkrun has started, it has covered over 56 000 kilometres.


Since the start of the parkrun on May 6, 2017, runners have run a total distance of 56 405km.This is according to updated statistics at the Mbabane parkrun website (www.parkrun.co.za/mbabane). The statistics also revealed that after the 128th edition which took place yesterday at the Mbabane Club, race figures shot up to 11 281 runs. The parkrun attracts on average per week 88 runners. Most runners finish the race in 38:06 minutes.

Coming to this week’s edition, there were 73 runners who participated and it was won by Nkululeko Gama. The latter who holds the record of being the fastest runner yesterday finished the race in 16:32 minutes. His personal best remains at 14:46 minutes. This was Gama’s 42nd win. 


In the ladies category, Delsile Ngubane was the winner, clocking 27:10 minutes. She was closely followed by Times of Eswatini News reporter Phiwase Phungwayo in 33:19 minutes.
