‘WIN LEAGUE, INGWENYAMA CUP’
NOKWANE - Army Commander Jeffery Tshabalala has commanded Young Buffaloes to win both the league and Ingwenyama Cup.
The army commander was speaking during the launch of the Army Commander Shooting Tournament at Nokwane Army Barracks yesterday.
“They know what is at stake. We need to defend the Ingwenyama Cup and also take the league home. We have all what it takes to win both trophies. We need to return to Africa to conquer the continent,” Tshabalala said.
He went on to applaud Buffaloes players for the splendid performance when playing for the national team. “They are not shining only at Young Buffaloes but they seem to be doing well for the national team. They are true soldiers and I am proud of them. I want more players from Buffaloes to join the national team,” the army commander said.
Buffaloes are currently leading in the MTN League with 26 points after 10 games. They are the defending champions of the richly sponsored Ingwenyama Cup. They took home the staggering E1.3 million last year. This year’s champions stand to walk away with E1.35 million. The army side will face-off with regional side Manchester United in the grand opening of the Sincephetelo Motor Vehicle Accident Fund (SMVAF) sponsored tournament. The game is slated for Sunday at Somhlolo National Stadium.
