MBABANE – The Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) development programme continues with the sixth edition of the Esibayeni Lodge-sponsored Under-17 League kicking off this weekend.

Sponsored to the tune of E200 000 in the last two editions, the package for this year is yet to be confirmed by the PLE. However, this does not deter the PLE from resuming the games which always start during the last school term holidays.

Correctional Services side Green Mamba won it for the first time in the previous edition and will start their title defence against Moneni Pirates. According to a fixture released by the PLE yesterday, there will be five matches between tomorrow and Sunday in three different venues.

Worth noting is that it will be a triple-header on Sunday at UNESWA Sports Ground in Kwaluseni involving giant sides in Mbabane Highlanders, Mbabane Swallows and Moneni Pirates from as early as 10am.

Pirates start off against Leopard and will be followed by Highlanders away to Green Mamba at noon before Swallows, who are also visitors, take on Denver Sundowns at 2pm.

The games billed for tomorrow will see Mhlume Peacemakers take on Manzini Wanderers as a curtain-raising game for the senior teams’ MTN Premier League clash at 3:30pm. The development match kicks off at 12:30pm while at Somhlolo National Stadium in Lobamba; it will be Manzini Sea Birds against Tambuti at 11:30am.

PLE Chief Operations Officer (COO) Pat Vilakati confirmed the fixtures.
