CALLIES ALREADY E235 000 RICHER
MBABANE – Tambankulu Callies’ historic win over Manzini Wanderers in the Ingwenyama Cup quarter-finals has earned them E235 000.
This includes the E200 000 money for reaching the semi-finals while E30 000 comes from being the best finisher in the National First Division League team with E5 000 being the participation fee for the First Division League teams. They shocked Hub giants, Wanderers 2-0 after extra time to reach the semi-finals for the first time. They defeated Madlenya FC and Seven Dreams, who were both booted out on Saturday and Sunday by Mbabane Highlander and Moneni Pirates, respectively. The four semi-finalists Green Mamba, Tambankulu Callies, Moneni Pirates and Mbabane Highlanders, are already guaranteed the E200 000 for reaching the semi-finals, according to the Ingwenyama Cup 2019/ 20 Rules and Regulations.

The four teams that exited the tournament in the quarter-finals, being Manzini Wanderers, Madlenya, Seven Dreams and the defending champions Young Buffaloes, will each take home E75 000. The team to be crowned the champions will get a lucrative E1.4 million while the runners-up are due for E530 000. This has been a good season for Tambankulu Callies, who are currently the leaders in the MTN National First Division League as in November, they pocketed the E75 000 incentive for finishing the first round at the top of the table.
