MBABANE – Out-in-the-cold Manzini Wanderers starlet Leon Manyisa is in a huge dilemma.

If the player is not registered by the close of registration today, he will be out of action for the rest of the season. The former Vovovo star last played a competitive match on December 2, 2019. This was during Wanderers’ 1-0 win over Malanti Chiefs in a Premier League match where he scored the winner through a superb free kick.

If the registration is successful; he will be part of the team to face Mbabane Swallows in a Y’ello Sunday league encounter this weekend. Kick-off time is 3:35pm at Somhlolo National Stadium.

For the player to return to action, Wanderers must acquire the Reversal International Transfer Certificate (RITC) from Armenia. They can do this by liaising with Eswatini Football Association (EFA) who helped facilitate the move between the two football associations. In this case, it is the EFA, Armenia Football Association and, of course, the teams, his former team Vovovo (or agent) and FC Van from Armenia.

Manyisa, who last year saw his contract being terminated in Armenia’ FC Van, is currently not playing because the Eswatini Football Association Disciplinary and Protest Committee put him on ice. He was found to be a defaulter when he featured in a Premier League match against Malanti Chiefs while he still appeared active for FC Van.

When reached for comment, Wanderers General Manager Berger Nxumalo confirmed that they were anticipating getting his RITC from EFA.
“Manyisa’s agent, Victor McDonald, together with the EFA, have been assisting us in getting his RITC. The reason it took long to fix this matter was because his agent was away in Nigeria. He is back and they have being working on ensuring that he is registered before the end of the day,” Nxumalo said.

EFA Communications and Marketing Officer Muzi Radebe said players’ registration was confidential and therefore they could not divulge information on Manyisa’s registration process.

McDonald could only confirm that Manyisa’s RICT and registration might be completed by the end of day (yesterday).
Manyisa did not answer his mobile phone or messages that were sent to his Whatsapp. However, on Saturday, Manyisa had told this publication that he was eager to play.

He was quoted as saying he was training and hoping that his agent and all the relevant parties would ensure that his RITC are ready before the registration closes.

Manyisa has been linked with a move to Malaysia, Spain’s Real Madrid, and Highlands Park. He also trained with Mbabane Swallows before he was snatched by Manzini Wanderers. Latest reports from KickOff.com, are that Highlands Park are set to register the player in July.

However, Manyisa has confided to the Sports Desk that he would freeze international moves until he finish school. He is currently doing form four at Elangeni High School.
