MBABANE – Capital city giants Mbabane Highlanders Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Melusi Dlamini is an exemplary football administrator.
The CEO is among sportspeople who take seriously the outbreak of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

As the government had implemented a partial lockdown, the CEO has made emphasis on the importance of keeping fit and healthy while indoors.
“I want to encourage the nation at large to adhere to the government and World Health Organisation (WHO) prevention guidelines to stop the spread of the coronavirus. It is important to keep training during the lockdown at the comfort of your home in order to boost your immune system and minimise chances of contracting the deadly virus,” he said.

Dlamini is a self-confessed Christian and says he holds the values of Christianity high. He said it was important for people to understand that as a Christian, exercising and adhering to the safety guidelines was not enough.
“I am a Christian, I can’t just encourage training only but I can encourage the nation to read the Word of God and pray to the Almighty God while there are indoors,” he said.

He urged emaSwati to trust in God during these trying times and said they must read the Bible on Isaiah 49 verses 15-16.
According to the CEO, his training mainly includes doing aerobics, which he usually did with other fitness enthusiasts before government implemented the partial lockdown and banned gatherings limiting people to just 20 or less in cases where the meeting or gathering was necessary.

For Dlamini, he could not attend the training sessions as gyms and training facilities were closed until the situation had been put under control.
Health experts say working out is often a great way to de-stress at the end of the day and a good way to keep your immune system in tip-top shape. Fears of contracting COVID-19 have many people on edge and avoiding places where they could contract the disease or spread the virus to other people.

On that point, the gym is a place where people can easily pick up germs and that is of particular concern because the COVID-19 causes respiratory illness that can spread by touching surfaces a person with the virus has touched or even via airborne droplets when a person sneezes or coughs.
