MBABANE – The fourty-4 push-ups challenge introduced by the taekwondo federation has attracted artists even from outside the country.

The challenge started with the Eswatini Taekwondo Federation’s (ETF) Vice President Sizwe Mabuza on Thursday and one artist based in Tanzania by the name of Vusani Matsebula has also taken the challenge.

Some of those who had already joined in include United Kingdom based, Thandukukhanya Dlamini, Olympic bound artists Wandile Maziya, Master Sandile Mchunu and Siphiwe Nsibande among others.

“This is a challenge to do something in solidarity with those leading the fight against COVID-19, for fun and also for fitness, to keep ourselves going throughout the lockdown period as outlined for Eswatini.
“We are going to do this challenge until May 8, 2020 when this lockdown is scheduled to end. If ever there is an extension beyond then, we shall see what to do about extending or changing the challenge,” he said.

Once you start the challenge, you will have to do it until May 8 every-day.
“Others all over the world are honking their horns at 7pm but we choose to do what will add to our fitness. A fit body stands a better chance of fighting infections hence us choosing to show solidarity through the fitness based challenge.

“We say, the virus cannot move on its own, it needs vectors to spread, let us not be vectors good people,” he concluded.
He said the theme of the challenge was #SupportTheFrontlineWorkers, #StayHome, #StayFit, #StayHealthy
#StaySafe, #DefeatCovid19,#LetsWinThisTogether.

The challenge:
