MANYISA ON ‘BIRDS’ RADAR
MBABANE – Manzini Wanderers youngster Leon Manyisa could be headed to the Mbabane Swallows ‘nest’ next season.
An informed source has confided to this newspaper that the former FC Van star has been approached by Swallows officials a week ago with the intention to snatch him from the maroon and white outfit.
“Swallows officials approached the player last week. There was nothing formal but they did call him to ask if he was willing to join Swallows and they presented their offer to him as well,” the source said.
Swallows are reportedly dangling a E7 000 monthly salary offer and signing-on-fee of E30 000 to the Green Mamba Development Academy graduate.
loan
Interestingly, Manyisa’s one year loan deal to Wanderers has elapsed.
When reached for comment, Vovovo Director Sipho ‘Tsetla’Bhembe confirmed that Manyisa’s loan deal was coming to an end.
“When we loaned Manyisa to Wanderers, we gave them the assurance that they would get the first preference when the loan deal elapse. However, there are new offers on the table and it will depend on Manyisa if he still wants to stay at Wanderers or consider these new suitors,” said Bhembe.
Manyisa also confirmed that he would consider new offers.
“Well, my loan contract with Wanderers is coming to an end. I have not decided yet if I want to stay or consider new offers. However I think it would depend how good the offer is, otherwise if it is not attractive I will continue to stay at Wanderers,” said Manyisa.
Wanderers General Manager Berger Nxumalo said their wish was to reach a permanent deal with Vovovo.
“His one-year loan deal has elapsed and we are already in talks with Vovovo for a possible permanent deal. He is a valuable player and we would love to keep him here,” Nxumalo said.
dictate
Meanwhile, Swallows Marketing and Communications Manager Mancoba Mabuza said their culture dictated that when a player joined them, they issue a formal statement.
He said right now there was nothing to that extent.
Manyisa was reportedly signed by Mbabane Swallows last year and they even went to announce in a press conference that the 20-year-old was among the new signees in the team.
However, the player went on to join the hub giants.
He played few games for Wanderers before he joined Armenia’s FC Van in August. His contracted was terminated in October.
He came back to play for Wanderers, however, he was banned from football activities because the Eswatini Football Disciplinary Committee discovered that he was still registered with his former team, FC Van.
Manyisa has been previously linked with South Africa’s premier league outfit, Highlanders Park and Spanish giants, Real Madrid.
