MBABANE – Mbabane Swallows left-back Sanele Mkhweli claims that his daughter Nhlaloyenkhosi is a huge motivation for his daily training sessions.
Since the lockdown, the overlapping defender has been training at home and his daughter (4 years old) has been his source of inspiration. The former Manzini Wanderers defender explained that his daughter always encouraged him to train.

“She would normally ask, ‘daddy when are we going to start training’? Such words from my daughter, young as she is, are an inspiration to put on my training gear. I cannot say no to her,” Mkhweli said.
He added even on bad days when he did not feel like training, he would do it by force because his daughter does not take no for an answer when it comes to training.

push-ups

“You know I usually do push-ups, squats, sit-ups, jack-knives, donkey-kicks.
“Even though my daughter is still young and learning, she tries her best to copy my training routine, which keeps me motivated not to disappoint her,” the former TS Sporting player said.

Mkhweli, who also boasts a number of Sihlangu caps under his belt, also advised that it was important for football players to always keep fit, which is not just done to get ready for the resumption of football games but helps to boost one’s immune system.
