MBABANE – Empowered women help empower more women.

Women’s empowerment is the most crucial point to be noted for the overall development of a country. Empowerment includes the action of raising the status of women through education, raising awareness, literacy, and training. Women’s empowerment is all about equipping and allowing women to make life-determining decisions through the different societal challenges.

Alternatively, it is the process for women to redefine gender roles that allow them to acquire the ability to choose between known alternatives that have otherwise been restricted from such capability. Oftentimes, the success of women in various sectors is sidelined but in essence, women who have made a significant contribution in development should be celebrated every day and not only reserved for the month of August, which is recognised as ‘Women’s month’.

Let us take this chance to give due appreciation to Eswatini women who through being empowered have continued to empower other women and inspired them to make a positive change in society. Here are some prominent sportswomen whose journeys have played a huge role in sports development for females.
