FIGAREIDO WIN BIG, IN SUMMIT

EZULWINI - The Dixie’s International Pool League kicked off with one bonus win over the weekend.

Achieving the uneasy feat was Figareido Pool Club. They walloped visiting Bhunya 13-5 to leave the tables with four points - the extra point a bonus for not allowing the opponents to reach seven.

The two sides clashed last Saturday at Figareido in Matsapha under the Dixie’s International Pool League. The league is played under the auspices of Manzini Regional Pool League (MRPA).

For their win, they opened the league by shooting to the summit of the log standings. Other winners including last season’s runners-up, Way Inn, got three points.

MRPA Secretary Mbongeni ‘Mdlikiza’ Gamedze confirmed Figareido’s standing in the 15-team league. The sponsorship package by Dixie’s is E40 000 with three thirds dedicated to prize money for the league and E10 000 for the knockout.

Some clubs that were due to play did not due to reasons including COVID-19 and venue challenges.
